The Edit | A Host's Library for Private Events

The Edit

A library
for confident
hosts.

Guides, translations, and planning tools. Everything we have learned about booking beautiful private events.

Women in light gowns chatting at an elegant private reception

Most people plan two or three private events in their life. Venue teams plan a thousand. That imbalance is the reason this library exists. Not to catch anyone out, and not to make planning feel harder than it is. To close the gap between the language of hospitality and the language of the person writing the check, so the conversation between host and venue can start from the same page.

Everything here is written by our team. We work with great venues every day, we read a lot of contracts, and we answer the same questions over and over again. The guides below are what we would tell a friend who was planning a dinner, a shower, a launch, or a celebration for the first time.
